A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the privacy of certain protected health information. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 181.004, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A covered entity described by Subsection (a) or (b) |
|
|
shall comply with this chapter and the Health Insurance Portability |
|
|
and Accountability Act and Privacy Standards in any requested |
|
|
disclosure of an individual's protected health information |
|
|
relating to all reproductive healthcare, including miscarriage and |
|
|
abortion. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
