A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the disclosure of certain information by the Texas
  Juvenile Justice Department.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 244.003, Human Resources Code, is
  amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to
  read as follows:
         (b)  Except as provided by Section 243.051(c), these records
  and all other information concerning a child, including personally
  identifiable information, are not public and are available only
  according to the provisions of Subsection (c) of this section,
  Section 58.005, Family Code, Section 244.051 of this code, and
  Chapter 67, Code of Criminal Procedure.
         (c)  The department may disclose information concerning a
  person who was committed to the department, including personally
  identifiable information, if:
               (1)  the person:
                     (A)  has been discharged from commitment by the
  department;
                     (B)  is at least 18 years of age; and
                     (C)  has given consent for the department to
  disclose the information; and
               (2)  the department does not disclose any information
  for which the person did not consent to disclosure and does not
  disclose any information for a purpose other than the purpose for
  which the person consented to disclosure.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
