A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to health benefit plan coverage of anxiety and pain |
|
|
management in connection with insertion or removal of prescription |
|
|
contraceptive devices. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1369.1031, Insurance Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) A health benefit plan that provides benefits for |
|
|
prescription contraceptive devices must provide coverage of |
|
|
evidence-based anxiety and pain management related to the insertion |
|
|
or removal of the device. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a health benefit plan that is delivered, issued for delivery, or |
|
|
renewed on or after January 1, 2026. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
