A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the creation of a gas inventory system by the |
|
|
independent organization certified for the ERCOT power region, the |
|
|
Public Utility Commission of Texas, and the Railroad Commission of |
|
|
Texas. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 121, Utilities Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 121.159 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 121.159. GAS INVENTORY SYSTEM. (a) The railroad |
|
|
commission shall collaborate with the independent organization |
|
|
certified under Section 39.151 for the ERCOT power region and the |
|
|
Public Utility Commission of Texas to create a gas inventory system |
|
|
in the manner provided by this section. |
|
|
(b) The railroad commission by rule shall require each |
|
|
operator of an intrastate gas pipeline facility described by |
|
|
Section 121.2015(a)(3) to provide to the independent organization |
|
|
in real time information about the facility's available gas supply, |
|
|
including through the use of telemetry or a hotline. |
|
|
(c) Information in the gas inventory system is confidential |
|
|
and not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
