A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring the display of a broadband provider's name or |
|
|
logo when performing work on the real property of another. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subtitle B, Title 10, Business & Commerce Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Chapter 329 to read as follows: |
|
|
CHAPTER 329. REGULATION OF BROADBAND PROVIDERS |
|
|
Sec. 329.001. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "broadband |
|
|
provider" has the meaning assigned by Section 253.0001, Utilities |
|
|
Code. |
|
|
Sec. 329.002. CONSPICUOUS DISPLAY OF PROVIDER NAME OR LOGO |
|
|
REQUIRED. An employee or contractor of a broadband provider that |
|
|
enters the real property of another located in this state to perform |
|
|
work on behalf of the provider shall: |
|
|
(1) wear a badge, name tag, or other distinctive |
|
|
clothing with the provider's name or logo in a manner that |
|
|
conspicuously identifies the person as an employee or contractor of |
|
|
the provider; and |
|
|
(2) if the person uses a motor vehicle on the property, |
|
|
affix in a conspicuous place on both sides of the vehicle the |
|
|
provider's name or logo. |

|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
