A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the terms of the members of the board of hospital |
|
managers and leasing authority of the Walker County Hospital |
|
District. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 1111.051(b), Special District Local Laws |
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
(b) Managers [Unless four-year terms are established under |
|
Section 285.081, Health and Safety Code, managers] serve staggered |
|
four-year [two-year] terms with the terms of two or three managers |
|
expiring each even-numbered year as appropriate. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 1111.108(a), Special District Local Laws |
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
(a) The district through the board may lease all or part of |
|
the district's property, including the buildings and facilities |
|
comprising the hospital system, to any person on terms considered |
|
to be in the district's best interest. The term of a lease may not |
|
exceed 80 [40] years. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
