A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the allocation of money appropriated to the Texas |
|
|
Military Preparedness Commission for the purpose of making certain |
|
|
grants. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 436, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 436.2025 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 436.2025. ALLOCATION OF CERTAIN GRANT MONEY. The |
|
|
commission shall allocate at least 20 percent of the money |
|
|
appropriated for grants under this subchapter in each state fiscal |
|
|
year to: |
|
|
(1) counties that are eligible local governmental |
|
|
entities and have a population of less than 50,000; and |
|
|
(2) eligible local governmental entities that are |
|
|
located in counties described by Subdivision (1). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
