A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the text of ballot propositions on the issuance of debt |
|
|
obligations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 52.072, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) A proposition described by Subsection (f) must include |
|
|
the following statement: "THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE." |
|
|
SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|
|
an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
