A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to patient stay reports submitted by freestanding |
|
|
emergency medical care facilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 254, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 254.1535 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 254.1535. REQUIRED PATIENT STAY REPORT. (a) In |
|
|
addition to any other information the executive commissioner |
|
|
requires by rule, a facility shall submit to the Health and Human |
|
|
Services Commission in the form and manner the commission requires |
|
|
a report on each patient stay that exceeds 48 hours. |
|
|
(b) A facility is not required to submit to the Health and |
|
|
Human Services Commission a report on a patient stay that is 48 |
|
|
hours or less. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
