A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a restriction on the use of public money by a school |
|
|
district regarding the passage of a bond proposal. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 11, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 11.1691 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 11.1691. RESTRICTION ON USE OF PUBLIC MONEY REGARDING |
|
|
BOND PROPOSAL. The board of trustees of a school district may not |
|
|
spend public money to pay or contract with a person who has an |
|
|
interest in the passage of a bond proposal by the district to |
|
|
promote or advocate for the passage of that bond proposal. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
