A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the payment of salary to an individual pending the |
|
|
individual's impeachment trial. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 665, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 665.0215 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 665.0215. SALARY DURING SUSPENSION. An individual |
|
|
against whom articles of impeachment have been preferred is |
|
|
entitled to continue receiving the individual's salary while |
|
|
suspended from exercising the duties of the individual's office as |
|
|
provided by Section 5, Article XV, Texas Constitution. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
