A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to vacancies on the board of directors of the Lost Pines |
|
|
Groundwater Conservation District. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 8849.053, Special District Local Laws |
|
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 8849.053. BOARD VACANCY. (a) If a vacancy occurs on the |
|
|
board, the vacancy shall be filled in the manner provided by Section |
|
|
8849.052 for making the original appointment. |
|
|
(b) A [the board may appoint a] director appointed to fill a |
|
|
vacancy on the board shall [to] serve the remainder of the unexpired |
|
|
term. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
