A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the prohibited administration of a vaccine containing |
|
|
mRNA material to certain animals intended for human consumption. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 161, Agriculture Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 161.0425 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 161.0425. PROHIBITED ADMINISTRATION OF VACCINE |
|
|
CONTAINING MRNA MATERIAL. (a) In this section, "mRNA material" |
|
|
means a substance that introduces messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) |
|
|
corresponding to a viral protein. |
|
|
(b) The commission shall adopt rules to prohibit the |
|
|
administration of a vaccine containing mRNA material to livestock |
|
|
and domestic fowl intended for human consumption. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
