A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to individuals who are considered opportunity youth for
  purposes of administering certain federal workforce development
  funds.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 302, Labor Code, is
  amended by adding Section 302.0145 to read as follows:
         Sec. 302.0145.  OPPORTUNITY YOUTH. For purposes of
  administering any federal workforce development funds available to
  assist opportunity youth in this state, unless federal law provides
  otherwise, the term "opportunity youth" means individuals who are:
               (1)  at least 16 years of age but younger than 27 years
  of age;
               (2)  unemployed; and
               (3)  not enrolled in secondary or postsecondary
  education.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
