A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to eligibility to serve on the board of directors of an |
|
|
appraisal district. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 6.035, Tax Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-2) An individual is ineligible to serve in an appointive |
|
|
position on an appraisal district board of directors if the |
|
|
individual holds an elective office. An individual is ineligible |
|
|
to serve in an elective position on an appraisal district board of |
|
|
directors if the individual holds another elective office. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 6.035(a-2), Tax Code, as added by this |
|
|
Act, does not affect the eligibility of a person serving on the |
|
|
board of directors of an appraisal district immediately before the |
|
|
effective date of this Act to continue to serve on the board for the |
|
|
term to which the person was appointed or elected. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
