A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the salary schedules for regional planning commissions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 391.0117, Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The salary schedule for classified positions adopted by |
|
|
a [the] commission serving fewer than 200 participating |
|
|
governmental units may not exceed[, for classified positions,] the |
|
|
state salary schedule for classified positions as prescribed by the |
|
|
General Appropriations Act adopted by the most recent legislature. |
|
|
A commission serving fewer than 200 participating governmental |
|
|
units may adopt a salary schedule that is less than the state salary |
|
|
schedule. |
|
|
(b-1) A commission serving 200 or more participating |
|
|
governmental units may adopt a salary schedule for classified |
|
|
positions as determined by the commission. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act applies only to a salary schedule |
|
|
adopted for a fiscal year beginning on or after the effective date |
|
|
of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
