A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

|
relating to notice requirements on state highway projects. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 203.022, Transportation Code , is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) If the department does not receive a response on or |
|
|
before the 60th day after the date the notice is mailed, the |
|
|
department must make a reasonable effort to locate the property |
|
|
owner and provide notice by personal delivery. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
