A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the spacing and density requirements applicable to |
|
|
certain oil and gas wells. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 85, Natural Resources |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 85.0555 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 85.0555. DENSITY AND SPACING OF CERTAIN WELLS |
|
|
AFFECTING RANCHING. The commission by rule shall adopt minimum |
|
|
distance requirements or other standards for oil and gas wells in |
|
|
areas where proration units have not been established to provide |
|
|
for a standard development pattern of not more than one well for |
|
|
each 640 acres of land on which an active ranching operation is |
|
|
located. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
