A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the appointment of election officers to serve during |
|
|
certain elections. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 31, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 83.0301 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 83.0301. APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. A person may |
|
|
not be appointed as a deputy early voting clerk under this |
|
|
subchapter for a primary election or a general election for state |
|
|
and county officers. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 85.0091(b), Election Code, is repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|
|
an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
