A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of a school district to contract to |
|
|
operate certain district campuses. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 11.174, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) A school district may not enter into a contract under |
|
|
Subsection (a) for the operation of a district campus located in the |
|
|
territory of another school district unless authorized by a |
|
|
majority vote of the board of trustees of both districts. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
