A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

|
relating to toll service fees charged by vehicle rental companies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 91, Business & Commerce |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 91.0551 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 91.0551. TOLL SERVICE FEES. (a) Subject to Subsection |
|
|
(b), a rental company may charge a renter a service fee for the use |
|
|
of a toll road in the rental vehicle that does not exceed $5 per day. |
|
|
(b) A fee charged under this section may not exceed the |
|
|
amount of the total tolls incurred during the term of the rental |
|
|
agreement. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
