A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the name of an appraisal district. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 6.01, Tax Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Subsections (d), (e), and (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The name of an appraisal district must include the |
|
|
county code number assigned by the comptroller to the county in |
|
|
which the appraisal district is established. Except as provided by |
|
|
Subsection (e), the name of each appraisal district must be in the |
|
|
following form: |
|
|
"Appraisal District #(county code number)." |
|
|
(e) The name of a consolidated appraisal district that |
|
|
operates by interlocal contract under Section 6.02(b) must include |
|
|
the county code number assigned by the comptroller to each county in |
|
|
which an appraisal district that is a party to the contract is |
|
|
established and must be in the following form: |
|
|
"Appraisal District #(county code number) and #(county code |
|
|
number)." |
|
|
(f) The name of an appraisal district may not include the |
|
|
name of a county. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
