A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to instructional materials developed for police chiefs by |
|
|
the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement on issues specific to women |
|
|
in law enforcement. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1701.360 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1701.360. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR POLICE CHIEFS ON |
|
|
ISSUES FOR WOMEN IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. (a) The commission shall |
|
|
develop instructional materials for police chiefs on issues |
|
|
specific to women in law enforcement. The instructional materials |
|
|
shall include information regarding: |
|
|
(1) physical and mental health; |
|
|
(2) reproductive health; |
|
|
(3) work-life balance; |
|
|
(4) breast cancer awareness and support; and |
|
|
(5) information on assistance and accommodations |
|
|
appropriate for women in law enforcement facing an issue described |
|
|
by Subdivisions (1)-(4). |
|
|
(b) The commission shall: |
|
|
(1) make the instructional materials developed under |
|
|
Subsection (a) available for the training and continuing education |
|
|
program under Section 96.641, Education Code; and |
|
|
(2) distribute the instructional materials developed |
|
|
under Subsection (a) to police chiefs for self-study. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
