A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the repeal of certain laws regulating abortion and the |
|
|
construction of abortion statutes. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 171.005, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 171.005. COMMISSION TO ENFORCE[; EXCEPTION]. The |
|
|
commission shall enforce this chapter [except for Subchapter H, |
|
|
which shall be enforced exclusively through the private civil |
|
|
enforcement actions described by Section 171.208 and may not be |
|
|
enforced by the commission]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The following provisions are repealed: |
|
|
(1) Section 30.022, Civil Practice and Remedies Code; |
|
|
(2) Section 311.036, Government Code; |
|
|
(3) Chapter 170A, Health and Safety Code; |
|
|
(4) Subchapter H, Chapter 171, Health and Safety Code; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(5) Chapter 6-1/2, Title 71, Revised Statutes. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
