A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the notice required for an election held by certain
  political subdivisions.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 4.003, Election Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
         (c-1)  In addition to any other notice given for an election
  under this section, notice of an election ordered by an authority,
  other than an authority described by Subsection (c), must be posted
  on the Internet website of the authority not later than the 62nd day
  before election day.
         SECTION 2.  Section 4.004(b), Election Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         (b)  The notice of a special election or the election of an
  authority that holds nonpartisan elections must also state each
  office to be filled or the proposition stating each measure to be
  voted on.  This subsection does not apply to an election on a
  proposed constitutional amendment.
         SECTION 3.  Section 4.008(a), Election Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         (a)  Except as provided by Subsection (b), the governing body
  of a political subdivision, other than a county, that orders an
  election shall deliver notice of the election, including the
  location of each polling place, to the county clerk and voter
  registrar of each county in which the political subdivision is
  located not later than the 75th [60th] day before election day.  The
  county clerk shall post notice of the election, including the
  location of each polling place, on the county's Internet website,
  if the county maintains a website, as provided by Section 4.003(b).
         SECTION 4.  The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
  an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 5.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
