A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the dissemination by the Department of Public Safety of |
|
|
criminal history record information to consumer reporting |
|
|
agencies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 411, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 411.0831 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 411.0831. NOTICE REGARDING DISSEMINATION TO CONSUMER |
|
|
REPORTING AGENCY. The department shall publish on its Internet |
|
|
website, for each dissemination of criminal history record |
|
|
information to a consumer reporting agency, as defined by Section |
|
|
20.01, Business & Commerce Code: |
|
|
(1) the name of the agency; |
|
|
(2) the agency's telephone number, mailing address, |
|
|
and, if available, e-mail address; and |
|
|
(3) the date of the dissemination. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
