HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The City of Denton is recognized as the Halloween
  Capital of Texas for its renowned efforts to transform historic
  downtown Denton into an immersive Halloween experience during the
  Thirty-One Days of Denton Halloween, celebrating the season with
  much-anticipated spooky events and activities at over fifteen
  different themed locations around the city; and
         WHEREAS, The City of Denton turns into the premier
  destination for Halloween enthusiasts across the state, turning
  into a seasonal experience that brings together people of all ages.
  As over 660,000 people were drawn to visit their historic downtown;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Thirty-One Days of Denton Halloween evokes a
  sense of nostalgia, reminding people of cherished traditions such
  as pumpkin carving, Halloween movie nights, a pumpkin drop
  Blocktober party, and interactive storytelling that have long been
  a part of the holiday's rich history; and
         WHEREAS, By joining together for Thirty-One Days of Denton
  Halloween, the residents of the City of Denton and surrounding
  communities have created a popular Halloween tradition that is
  beloved by young and old alike, and this delightful month-long
  event serves as an opportunity to showcase the city and uncover
  their talented artists, seasonal treats offerings, unique sights,
  and playful spirit of the season further enhancing the festive
  atmosphere ,therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby designate City of Denton as the official Halloween Capital
  of Texas; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the provisions of Section
  391.003(e), Government Code, this designation remain in effect
  until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is finally
  passed by the legislature.
