CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, Dudley Speed retired from the Texas Division of |
|
Emergency Management in 2025, drawing to a close a distinguished |
|
career in public service that spanned 50 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, "Dude" Speed began his tenure with the State of |
|
Texas in February 1975, when he joined the Department of Public |
|
Safety; working for the agency for three decades, he served in the |
|
highway patrol and criminal intelligence divisions; and |
|
WHEREAS, After retiring from DPS, Mr. Speed accepted a |
|
position with TDEM as the Midland senior liaison officer; in this |
|
role, he supported the development and implementation of local |
|
emergency management programs and provided assistance to program |
|
staff, governmental agencies, and community organizations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his hard work, dedication, and |
|
professionalism, Dude Speed has greatly benefited his fellow Texans |
|
and earned the respect and admiration of his peers, and he may |
|
indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on |
|
the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby congratulate Dudley Speed on his retirement from the Texas |
|
Division of Emergency Management and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Speed as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives and Senate. |
