CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, A vibrant southeast Texas community, Bridge City has
  become known as a premier destination for a food that's synonymous
  with good times and good eating: the corn dog; and
         WHEREAS, Bridge City has a rich history of bringing people
  together through events and festivals that foster a spirit of
  hospitality and camaraderie; corn dogs are an especially popular
  food at these gatherings, and attendees line up to procure the
  sweet-and-savory treat, which is made by coating a hot dog in
  cornmeal batter, deep-frying it, and serving it on a stick for easy
  consumption while strolling; and
         WHEREAS, The origin of this classic American snack food is a
  matter of debate, but it has become a signature delicacy in Bridge
  City; local vendors and food establishments are renowned for their
  expertise in crafting delicious corn dogs, and they have become
  beloved enterprises that are frequented by locals and visitors
  alike; a number of the proprietors operate on a daily basis so that
  enthusiasts don't have to wait for a special event to enjoy a tasty
  dog; and
         WHEREAS, Whether eaten with ketchup, mustard, or more exotic
  toppings, the corn dog is an all-American favorite, and it has
  become an iconic specialty and a source of civic pride for the
  residents of Bridge City; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby designate Bridge City as the official Corn Dog Capital of
  Texas; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the provisions of Section
  391.003(e), Government Code, this designation remain in effect
  until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is finally
  passed by the legislature.
