A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing a municipality to |
|
|
use money to fund certain capital improvements to certain school |
|
|
campuses. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 52, Article III, Texas Constitution, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) The legislature by general law may authorize a |
|
|
municipality to use its money to fund capital improvements to a |
|
|
public school campus of an independent school district that are |
|
|
necessary to accommodate an increase in students attending school |
|
|
at the campus resulting from the construction of a development |
|
|
funded by low income housing tax credits within the attendance zone |
|
|
of the school district. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing a |
|
|
municipality to use money to fund certain capital improvements to |
|
|
certain school campuses." |
