A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing elections for the |
|
|
recall of a member of the board of trustees of an independent school |
|
|
district. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article VII, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 3-c to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 3-c. The legislature may enact a general, local, or |
|
|
special law authorizing the removal from office of a member of the |
|
|
board of trustees of an independent school district by a majority |
|
|
vote of the qualified voters of the district voting at an election |
|
|
held to recall the member. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing elections |
|
|
for the recall of a member of the board of trustees of an |
|
|
independent school district." |
