R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Shen Yun Performing Arts, a classical Chinese dance
  company that has toured in more than 36 countries, recently kicked
  off its 2025 season in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, This year marks the 19th anniversary of Shen Yun's
  establishment in the United States; in 2006, a small group of elite
  Chinese artists came together in New York with the mission to revive
  traditional Chinese culture and share it with the world; since
  then, Shen Yun has staged magnificent live performances of
  classical Chinese dance that incorporate a blend of Eastern
  instrumentation and Western symphony orchestra to portray 5,000
  years of Chinese history and culture; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, Shen Yun Performing Arts designs
  brand-new productions that take audiences back through time and
  space to experience China before the advent of Communism; since its
  inception, Shen Yun has grown to eight equally sized companies that
  tour around the world synchronously; the company recently presented
  shows in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Amarillo as part
  of its all new 2025 season, and it subsequently embarked on a second
  round of performances in Texas cities that will last until early
  March 2025; and
         WHEREAS, Shen Yun has introduced countless patrons to the
  exquisite beauty and richness of traditional Chinese culture and
  dance, and it is a pleasure to join in celebrating the return of
  Shen Yun and its impressively talented performers to the Lone Star
  State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize January 29, 2025, as Shen Yun Day at
  the State Capitol and extend to the visiting delegation sincere
  best wishes for a successful and memorable season in the great state
  of Texas; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Shen Yun Performing Arts as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
