R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Citizens and business leaders from San Jacinto |
|
|
County are gathering in Austin on February 6, 2025, to celebrate San |
|
|
Jacinto County Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, San Jacinto County was established in 1870 with |
|
|
Coldspring as its county seat, and includes other notable towns |
|
|
such as Shepherd, Oakhurst, and Point Blank; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over half of San Jacinto County lies within the Sam |
|
|
Houston National Forest, and it is bordered on the east by Lake |
|
|
Livingston and the Trinity River; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The lumber industry has played a crucial role in the |
|
|
area's development, with other abundant resources including oil, |
|
|
sand, and gas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, San Jacinto County boasts a rich history and |
|
|
stunning natural beauty, and its residents can take great pride in |
|
|
their achievements as they continue to strive for an even brighter |
|
|
future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 6, 2025, as San Jacinto |
|
|
County Day at the State Capitol and extend sincere best wishes to |
|
|
the visiting delegation for an informative and enjoyable stay in |
|
|
Austin. |
