R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Society of Certified Public |
|
|
Accountants are gathering in Austin on January 28, 2025, for TXCPA |
|
|
Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1915, TXCPA represents and advocates for |
|
|
the interests of Texas CPAs and finance professionals who work in |
|
|
public practice as well as in business, industry, government, and |
|
|
education; with 20 local chapters and some 28,000 members, it is the |
|
|
largest association of accounting professionals in the state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 2025 TXCPA Advocacy Day, more than 250 |
|
|
CPAs from across Texas will meet with legislators to discuss |
|
|
critical business issues and hear legislative updates; the |
|
|
delegation will also focus attention on the importance of the |
|
|
accounting profession to the state economy and work to advance |
|
|
causes that support the future of the industry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Texas Society of Certified |
|
|
Public Accountants has played a significant role in the prosperity |
|
|
of the Lone Star State, and this legislative day provides a fitting |
|
|
opportunity to honor the organization and its members; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize January 28, 2025, as Texas Society of |
|
|
Certified Public Accountants Advocacy Day at the State Capitol and |
|
|
extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
