R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Chapter of the American College |
|
of Physicians are gathering in Austin on February 19, 2025, for the |
|
organization's Advocacy Leadership Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting quality health care for all |
|
Texans, TXACP works to advance the field of internal medicine |
|
through advocacy, education, and initiatives aimed at enhancing |
|
patient care and medical standards in Texas; the organization |
|
represents more than 8,000 physicians, residents, medical |
|
students, and affiliate members and comprises two regions with |
|
representative leadership throughout the state; and |
|
WHEREAS, TXACP Services supports and improves the practice of |
|
internal medicine by addressing the scientific, economic, social, |
|
and political aspects of medicine to maintain the highest standards |
|
of patient care; and |
|
WHEREAS, The TXACP Foundation fosters knowledge and |
|
philanthropy that enhances health care in Texas by promoting |
|
initiatives such as the General Internal Medicine Statewide |
|
Preceptorship Program, which encourages students to enter the field |
|
of internal medicine and supports residents in educational and |
|
scientific endeavors; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Chapter of the American College of |
|
Physicians has rendered exceptional service to internal medicine |
|
professionals across the state, and the organization's Advocacy |
|
Leadership Day provides an important opportunity to connect with |
|
fellow medical professionals, to learn about current legislative |
|
issues impacting the field, and to engage with lawmakers about key |
|
health care policies; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 19, 2025, as the Texas |
|
Chapter of the American College of Physicians Advocacy Leadership |
|
Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting |
|
delegation; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for TXACP as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
