R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Santos
  Saenz Alvarado of Robstown, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at
  the age of 90; and
         WHEREAS, Born on July 12, 1934, in Victoria, to Celso Cantu
  Saenz and Rosa Montes Saenz, Santos Saenz grew up with the
  companionship of six siblings, Lupe, Velso, Roberto, Delfina,
  Josie, and Mary; she married Jose Guadalupe Alvarado, and they were
  blessed with seven children, Jose, Albert, Linda, Cynthia, Edward,
  David, and Elizabeth; and
         WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mrs. Alvarado served as a
  substitute teacher in the Robstown Independent School District,
  where she nurtured her students with patience and kindness; prior
  to working in education, she was a sales clerk at Leshin's for over
  20 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Alvarado enjoyed making crafts, especially
  rosaries; in addition to designing jewelry, sewing, and creating
  gifts, she also liked selling Avon and Mary Kay products, playing
  bingo with friends, and sharing stories with her loved ones at the
  dinner table; a woman of deep faith, she was a member of St. Anthony
  Catholic Church in Robstown; and
         WHEREAS, While the death of Santos Alvarado brings great
  sadness to her family and friends, her warmth, wisdom, and
  generosity will long be remembered by all those who were fortunate
  enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Santos Saenz
  Alvarado and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her children, Albert Alvarado, Linda De La Cruz, Cynthia
  Alvarado, Edward Alvarado, David Alvarado, and Elizabeth Flores; to
  her siblings, Velso Saenz Jr., Roberto Saenz, Delfina Cavazos,
  Josie Guerrero, and Mary Saenz; to her 20 grandchildren, 50
  great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and to her
  many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Santos
  Alvarado.
