R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Many proud members of the Texas Chapter of the |
|
|
National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials are |
|
|
gathering in Austin on February 13, 2025, in celebration of Texas |
|
|
NAHRO Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For 49 years, Texas NAHRO has been a leading |
|
|
advocate for affordable housing; the group is dedicated to ensuring |
|
|
the availability of safe, adequate housing for persons of low and |
|
|
moderate incomes through development, redevelopment, conservation, |
|
|
and rehabilitation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texas NAHRO collaborates with, supports, and |
|
|
promotes the 431 public housing agencies of Texas, which provide |
|
|
affordable residences for over 500,000 Texans; moreover, the |
|
|
organization serves as a forum for financial support, innovation, |
|
|
professional development, and education, facilitating |
|
|
relationships across all levels of government in behalf of |
|
|
accessible and affordable housing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Texas NAHRO has worked |
|
|
tirelessly to give Texas families secure, comfortable places to |
|
|
call home, and in so doing, it has improved their quality of life |
|
|
and made their communities more vibrant and sustainable for all; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 13, 2025, as Texas NAHRO Day |
|
|
at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting delegation sincere |
|
|
best wishes for an enjoyable and productive visit to Austin; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Texas NAHRO as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
