R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center |
|
|
Society are gathering in Austin on February 25, 2025, for |
|
|
Ambulatory Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An alternative to hospitalization for acute care, |
|
|
ambulatory surgery centers perform outpatient procedures that |
|
|
enable individuals to check out the same day and recover in the |
|
|
comfort of their own home; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, There are currently more than 600 ambulatory surgery |
|
|
centers licensed for operation by the Texas Department of State |
|
|
Health Services; these facilities treat hundreds of thousands of |
|
|
patients each year, resulting in millions of dollars saved for the |
|
|
state's health care system; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By providing high-quality medical care at a |
|
|
comparatively low cost, ambulatory surgery centers are helping to |
|
|
ensure the health and well-being of patients, and these facilities |
|
|
are indeed deserving of recognition for the important role they |
|
|
play in meeting Texans' health care needs; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 25, 2025, as Ambulatory |
|
|
Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol and commend the |
|
|
Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society for its work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
