R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Halff, a full-service infrastructure consulting |
|
firm, is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2025; and |
|
WHEREAS, The firm traces its history to 1950, when it was |
|
founded in Dallas by Dr. Albert H. Halff; over the years, the firm |
|
has contributed to the fields of hydraulics, hydrology, and |
|
floodplain management, and it has expanded to provide 24 unique |
|
services with solutions in infrastructure, mobility, placemaking, |
|
and water; moreover, it has established 14 offices in Texas as well |
|
as 18 locations in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, and |
|
Oklahoma; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ably led by President and CEO Jessica Baker Daily, |
|
Halff partners with state agencies, regional organizations, |
|
municipalities, and counties on a variety of infrastructure |
|
projects that help to improve the quality of life in local |
|
communities; some of the firm's most notable projects include |
|
supporting the first-ever state flood plan for the Texas Water |
|
Development Board, assisting in the creation of the Mill Creek |
|
Tunnel in Dallas, which is the largest stormwater tunnel in the |
|
United States, and providing design and construction management for |
|
the President George Bush Turnpike; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2017, the firm's employees established the Halff |
|
Community Initiative, a nonprofit organization, and the program has |
|
contributed more than $930,000 in support of 423 charities; among |
|
its many achievements, the firm has been recognized as a Top 100 |
|
Firm by Engineering News-Record for the past three years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Businesses that employ Texans and contribute to the |
|
economy are important components of a prosperous state, and all |
|
those affiliated with Halff may take great pride in their record of |
|
achievement as they observe this noteworthy milestone in the |
|
company's history; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of Halff and |
|
extend to the firm's leadership and staff sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Halff as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
