R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Multiple campuses in the Midway Independent School
  District have been ranked among the best elementary and middle
  schools in Texas by U.S. News & World Report; and
         WHEREAS, U.S. News evaluated schools across the nation and
  employed a comprehensive methodology to assess proficiency in
  mathematics and reading/language arts; the more than 79,000 public
  elementary and middle schools that were part of their analysis were
  ranked based on a number of additional factors, including student
  background and achievement in core subjects; and
         WHEREAS, Serving more than 8,750 students across 11 campuses,
  Midway ISD seeks to foster a challenging and supportive learning
  environment where young people are prepared to excel in a global
  society; the district is ably guided by superintendent Dr. Chris
  Allen, and it also benefits from the leadership of its board of
  trustees, which includes president Pete Rusek, vice president Susan
  Vick, secretary Pam Watts, and members Rick Tullis, Brad Alford,
  Colin Witt, and Jonathan Green; and
         WHEREAS, Among the campuses recognized by U.S. News were
  Woodway Elementary School, which ranked in the top 6.5 percent of
  over 6,600 elementary schools in Texas, and South Bosque
  Elementary, which at No. 84 was in the top 1.2 percent;
  additionally, Midway Middle School placed in the top 8.5 percent of
  more than 4,000 middle schools statewide; and
         WHEREAS, Providing young citizens with a quality education is
  essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation,
  and Midway ISD is to be commended for all that it is doing to help
  students to reach their full potential; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Midway Independent School District
  on its impressive showing in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best
  Elementary and Middle Schools rankings and that all those
  associated with the district be extended sincere best wishes for
  continued success with their important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Midway ISD as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
