R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Association of Charitable |
|
|
Clinics are gathering at the State Capitol on February 25, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, TXACC was founded in March 2005 as the Lone Star |
|
|
Association of Charitable Clinics in order to provide support and |
|
|
resources to free and charitable clinics across the state; the |
|
|
organization opened its first physical office in Austin in the fall |
|
|
of 2007, and it assumed its current name in 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Today, TXACC is a network of more than 75 |
|
|
independent clinics that provide quality medical care to over |
|
|
220,000 Texans at little or no cost each year; in fulfilling its |
|
|
mission, the association offers its members a wide range of |
|
|
benefits and services, including education, advocacy, and |
|
|
research, as well as assistance in securing grants and acquiring |
|
|
medical equipment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For two decades, the Texas Association of Charitable |
|
|
Clinics has worked to make health care services more accessible to |
|
|
those who may otherwise go without, and its efforts have made a |
|
|
positive difference in the lives of countless Texans; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 25, 2025, as Texas |
|
|
Association of Charitable Clinics Day at the State Capitol and |
|
|
extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for TXACC as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
