R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Proud representatives of the Dallas Independent
  School District are gathering in Austin on February 26, 2025, to
  take part in Dallas ISD Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Serving a diverse population of approximately
  140,000 students at 240 campuses, Dallas ISD is the second-largest
  school district in Texas; the district is committed to its mission
  of "Educating all students for success," and its nearly 23,000
  faculty and staff members work tirelessly to foster a supportive
  and challenging educational environment; and
         WHEREAS, In recent years, Dallas ISD has been recognized for
  the significant improvements it has made in academic performance,
  and its high schools currently rank among the top 10 percent of
  Texas high schools; the number of Dallas ISD students taking and
  scoring 3 or higher on Advanced Placement exams has increased
  during each of the last six years, and the district's graduation
  rate has consistently improved; in addition, its continuing efforts
  to promote college and career readiness resulted in district
  schools surpassing area charter schools on last year's STAAR test;
  and
         WHEREAS, Recognizing the demand for expanded educational
  opportunities, Dallas ISD has significantly increased access to
  pre-kindergarten classes and launched 150 two-way dual language
  programs and 25 P-TECHS and collegiate academies; since 2015,
  Dallas ISD has also invested over $2 billion in renovations,
  additions, and other improvements to its campuses, efforts that
  reflect the district's dedication to providing students with
  modern, state-of-the-art learning spaces where they are equipped
  with the knowledge and skills to succeed in today's
  technology-driven global society; and
         WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, administration, and students of
  Dallas ISD are building on a proud legacy of educational excellence
  and innovation, and it is fitting to acknowledge the meaningful
  contributions the district has made to the future of its community
  and the state at large; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize February 26, 2025, as Dallas
  Independent School District Day at the State Capitol and extend to
  the visiting delegation sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and
  productive event.
