R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brooke Rollins of Fort Worth was sworn in as the 33rd
  United States secretary of agriculture on February 13, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Glen Rose, Brooke Leslie Rollins grew up
  helping out on her family's farm and raising livestock for 4-H and
  the Future Farmers of America; she served as a Texas FFA Association
  officer and worked for the National FFA Organization; a graduate of
  Texas A&M University, she earned a bachelor's degree in
  agricultural development with honors and had the distinction of
  being elected as the first female student body president in the
  university's history; and
         WHEREAS, After receiving her juris doctor degree with honors
  from The University of Texas School of Law, Secretary Rollins
  served as the policy director for Governor Rick Perry; she went on
  to lead the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a free market research
  institute, as president and CEO for 15 years; and
         WHEREAS, Secretary Rollins previously served under President
  Donald J. Trump as director of the Domestic Policy Council and as
  assistant to the president for strategic initiatives; most
  recently, she added to her notable record of nonprofit leadership
  in her work as the founder, president, and CEO of the America First
  Policy Institute; and
         WHEREAS, Brooke Rollins has risen to national prominence as a
  public policy advocate and a champion for the principles of free
  enterprise and conservative governance, and the experience she has
  acquired along the way is certain to serve her well in this
  important cabinet position; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Brooke Rollins on the occasion of her
  appointment as the 33rd United States secretary of agriculture and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Secretary Rollins as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
