R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Weatherford Independent School District has |
|
been selected as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and |
|
Technical Association of Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Weatherford ISD was one of only 38 school districts |
|
in Texas to receive this esteemed recognition, which honors career |
|
and technical education programs that demonstrate exemplary |
|
leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success; the CTE |
|
District of Distinction accolade also highlights programs that |
|
excel in preparing students for the workforce and that are |
|
dedicated to making a positive difference in the community; and |
|
WHEREAS, The 13 career clusters offered at Weatherford ISD |
|
CTE allow students to immerse themselves in their chosen field |
|
through hands-on learning and internships; programs of study |
|
include agricultural science, architecture and construction, |
|
health science, hospitality and tourism, and manufacturing, among |
|
others; in 2023, Weatherford ISD launched the Grizzard Regional |
|
Institute of Technology in partnership with Weatherford College; |
|
GRIT is an innovative option for students to receive a high school |
|
diploma, an industry credential, or an associate's degree at no |
|
cost; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through its exceptional efforts to engage and |
|
motivate students, the Weatherford ISD CTE Department has built an |
|
outstanding record of achievement, and the district is indeed |
|
deserving of this prestigious award; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Weatherford Independent School |
|
District on being named a CTE District of Distinction by the Career |
|
and Technical Association of Texas and extend to all those |
|
affiliated with the district's CTE Department sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the school district as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
