R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
with the passing of Keaton Brooks of Dallas on February 15, 2025, at |
|
the age of 16; and |
|
WHEREAS, The cherished son of Jeff and Alaina Brooks, Keaton |
|
Brooks was born on February 27, 2008, and he grew up with the |
|
companionship of his sister, Farren; he fiercely loved his family, |
|
and his circle of support also included his girlfriend, Maci; |
|
moreover, he pursued his passions for music, movies, food, and |
|
history, and he adored his dogs, Spider, Bingo, and Crockett; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Brooks was a student at Highland Park High |
|
School; he cultivated lasting friendships, and he endeared himself |
|
to his classmates and teachers with his sharp wit, clever sense of |
|
humor, and beautiful smile; demonstrating great resilience, he |
|
overcame a number of challenges and had secured his first job; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his time on this earth was far too brief, |
|
Keaton Brooks touched the lives of everyone around him in ways |
|
beyond measure, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Keaton Brooks and |
|
extend profound condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
parents, Jeff and Alaina Brooks; to his sister, Farren; to his |
|
grandparents, Jayne Harrington and Byron and Rose Brooks; to his |
|
uncles, Chris and Jason; to his aunts, April and Tonya; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Keaton |
|
Brooks. |
