R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Princella Jewel Vogel of Houston on July 9, 2024; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Leo Chester McNeal and Jewel Agnes
  Jenkins McNeal, the former Princella McNeal was born in McAllen on
  October 13, and she grew up with the companionship of two sisters,
  Hermenia and Lucy; she shared a fulfilling marriage with her
  husband, Peter Olaf Vogel, that spanned more than two and a half
  decades before his passing in 2004, and she took great pride in her
  three children, Darryl, Peter, and Anneliese; over the years, she
  had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include six
  grandchildren, Geneva, Peter, Colin, Miles, Eleanor, and Harper;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Vogel enjoyed a rewarding career at the United
  States Postal Service, and she was a cofounder of Post Office Women
  for Equal Rights, an organization dedicated to promoting equality
  in the workplace; she was elected coordinator for the Southern
  Region of POWER in 1981, and she chaired the Rank and File Advisory
  Bargaining Committee, which negotiated contracts for postal
  workers; she further distinguished herself as president of the
  Houston Area Local chapter of the American Postal Workers Union,
  and she served as an officer for the national organization; among
  her many achievements, she received the APWU's Crystal Flame Award;
  a woman of deep faith, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of
  the Americas and St. Ambrose Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for her generosity, strength of character,
  and devotion to her family, Princella Vogel lived a caring and
  purposeful life, and she leaves behind a record of service that her
  loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Princella Jewel
  Vogel and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn her passing;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Princella
  Vogel.
