R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent |
|
School District was named among the top five school districts in the |
|
State of Texas for new National Board-certified teachers in 2024; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, One of the most respected professional credentials |
|
in education, National Board certification was designed to develop, |
|
retain, and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing |
|
improvement in schools nationwide; attaining the distinction is a |
|
rigorous process requiring that candidates meet the highest |
|
professional teaching standards and prove their ability to advance |
|
student learning; only 183 educators in Texas were certified by the |
|
board in 2024; and |
|
WHEREAS, The six Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD |
|
instructors who earned this prestigious certification were Melissa |
|
Dean and Christy Stoddard of Norma J. Paschal Elementary School in |
|
Schertz, Kathryn Muha of J. Frank Dobie Junior High School in |
|
Cibolo, Lauren Rollins and Connie Baker of Samuel Clemens High |
|
School in Schertz, and April Phillips of Byron P. Steele II High |
|
School in Cibolo; and |
|
WHEREAS, These distinguished educators exemplify the |
|
passion, determination, and innovative spirit that are the |
|
hallmarks of our best teachers, and they have set a standard of |
|
excellence to which all in their profession may aspire; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City |
|
Independent School District for being one of the top five school |
|
districts for new National Board-certified teachers in the State of |
|
Texas and extend to all those affiliated with the district sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success. |
