R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association |
|
|
are gathering at the State Capitol on March 13, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, TNLA serves as the authoritative source on matters |
|
|
pertaining to the Texas green industry, which promotes the |
|
|
beautification, sustainability, and economic prosperity of the |
|
|
state; the association represents a diverse membership of landscape |
|
|
professionals, growers and wholesalers of nursery stock, retail |
|
|
workers, irrigation experts, and suppliers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, According to a study conducted by Texas A&M |
|
|
University, the Texas green industry generates an economic output |
|
|
of $39 billion and supports more than 250,000 jobs; the industry |
|
|
plays a vital role in the state's economy, and it benefits |
|
|
immeasurably from TNLA's many contributions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, TNLA has equipped its |
|
|
members with the tools and guidance needed to thrive in an |
|
|
ever-evolving marketplace; the organization also advocates for |
|
|
policies that promote business growth and ensure the responsible |
|
|
stewardship of natural resources, especially in the areas of water |
|
|
conservation and environmental management; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Nursery & Landscape Association has |
|
|
demonstrated a steadfast commitment to supporting the Texas green |
|
|
industry and advancing the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and |
|
|
its legislative day provides a fitting opportunity to honor the |
|
|
organization and its members; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 13, 2025, as Texas Nursery & |
|
|
Landscape Association Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm |
|
|
welcome to the visiting delegation. |
