R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
the loss of Gilbert Guzman Jr., who passed away on March 6, 2025, at |
|
the age of 28; and |
|
WHEREAS, Gilbert Guzman was born in San Antonio on |
|
September 10, 1996, to Gilbert Guzman and Erika Escamilla; his |
|
cherished family also included his stepfather, Alfredo Escamilla, |
|
and his sister, Bianca Escamilla; as a child, he fought a difficult |
|
battle with leukemia, and he overcame the disease in 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, Inspired by the medical professionals who helped him |
|
in his youth, Mr. Guzman pursued a career in nursing; he obtained |
|
his registered nurse certification in May 2023, and he went on to |
|
work in the neurology department at University Hospital in San |
|
Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Guzman enjoyed the love |
|
and support of his wife, Cloey; he also treasured the companionship |
|
of his "fur babies," Jax Major and Rhylee Guzman; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too |
|
soon, Gilbert Guzman brightened the lives of everyone around him |
|
with his warmth, determination, and keen sense of humor, and they |
|
will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gilbert Guzman Jr. |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to his family and many friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gilbert |
|
Guzman Jr. |
