R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Proud representatives of the De Leon Independent |
|
|
School District are gathering in Austin on March 20, 2025, to take |
|
|
part in De Leon ISD Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Encompassing 272 square miles located primarily in |
|
|
Comanche County, De Leon ISD serves a population of approximately |
|
|
700 students at three schools; the district's educators and staff |
|
|
are committed to providing a safe learning environment that |
|
|
encourages and challenges every student to achieve success; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, De Leon ISD has earned an overall "A" rating from the |
|
|
Texas Education Agency; in addition, De Leon Elementary School and |
|
|
the district at large have been named to the Texas Honor Roll by the |
|
|
Educational Results Partnership organization, and De Leon High |
|
|
School has been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon campus; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The district issues a computer to each of its |
|
|
students as part of its effort to equip young people with the |
|
|
knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today's |
|
|
technology-driven economy; to further a supportive and |
|
|
well-rounded learning environment, De Leon ISD provides school |
|
|
supplies and meals to all students at no cost, and it offers a host |
|
|
of extracurricular activities and fields teams in a full range of |
|
|
athletic competitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, administration, and students of |
|
|
De Leon ISD are building on a proud legacy of educational excellence |
|
|
and innovation, and it is fitting to acknowledge the meaningful |
|
|
contributions the district has made to the future of its community |
|
|
and the state as a whole; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 20, 2025, as De Leon Independent |
|
|
School District Day at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting |
|
|
delegation sincere best wishes for an enjoyable visit to Austin. |
